I get the feeling these days that most music critics (most critics of any kind, in fact) like to pick things apart: to deconstruct a band’s musical style or the reason that a song is so incessantly catchy or the influences that influenced the bands that influenced that band. I’m more interested in trying to build up the music that you hear, to put all the pieces together and watch the composition come to life.
